Filen’s Server Upgrades
At Filen, we’re always striving to make our service faster, more reliable, and more secure. At the start of this year—during the transition between 2022 and 2023—we made a major move by switching to in-house servers. This was a big step forward, and we’ve been working hard to upgrade and optimize our infrastructure ever since.
The great news is that our ongoing server investments have been fueled by the incredible support from our community during the Black Friday sale a few weeks ago. Thanks to you, we’ve been able to push forward with these improvements, and we wanted to give you a quick look at what’s happening behind the scenes.
Why the Move to In-House Servers?
Switching to in-house servers has given us full control over how our systems operate. This transition has allowed us to:
- Boost Security: Managing our servers internally ensures tighter control over your data protection.
- Enhance Performance: By fine-tuning our infrastructure, we’ve been and will be able to deliver a faster and more reliable service.
- Prepare for Growth: Owning our infrastructure means we can scale up and adapt to your needs as we grow. The current investment period will help us create the base structure for our 2025 expansion campaign.
What We’ve Been Working On
Since last week, we’ve been busy installing new hardware, optimizing configurations, and improving performance across the board. Here’s a sneak peek at the work happening behind the scenes:

Investment Period Running Through January
Our infrastructure upgrade period will continue until January. This gives us the time to finish implementing the latest hardware improvements and ensure that everything is running smoothly.
Once these upgrades are complete, we’ll shift our focus fully to the next big priority: the new Filen mobile update. We’re excited to bring you a fresh and improved mobile experience, and we’re already planning how to make it as seamless and feature-rich as possible.
