Share Your Ideas on Our Feature Request Page! - Reminder

At Filen, your feedback is key to shaping our platform. Previously, feature requests were scattered across GitHub, Discord, and social media platforms, making it challenging to understand what truly resonated with the community or whether suggestions represented broader desires or a vocal minority.

To address this, we introduced a dedicated Feature Request Page at the end of last year, creating a centralized place where feature requests can be transparently submitted, discussed, and voted upon, enabling fair and clear comparison.

How the Feature Request Page Works:

1. Visit the Feature Request Page:
   Go to features.filen.io.
2. Sign In:
   Temporarily, participation requires signing in with a Discord or GitHub account.
3. Browse and Vote:
   Check out existing feature suggestions and vote on ones you’d like to see implemented.
4. Submit Your Ideas:
   Have your own suggestion? Click "Enter your suggestion here" and provide a clear, detailed description so other users and our team can understand and support your idea.

Customize Your (Notification) Settings:

On the feature request page, you can personalize how you receive notifications. Options include:

• New Posts:
  Choose if you'd like notifications about new feature requests.
• Discussion Updates:
  Opt-in or out of notifications when discussions happen on feature requests.
• Status Changes:
  Automatically get notified via web and email about status updates on features you've subscribed to.
• Display Name & Avatar:
  Customize your apperance to other users. (We do not display your E-Mail adress)

Login Requirement

As noted, signing in with Discord or GitHub is currently required to participate. Unfortunately, this login requirement is necessary to prevent users from unfairly influencing the feature request process. While it doesn't entirely solve the issue, it significantly mitigates it. We're actively considering more inclusive login options for future implementation.

Important Submission Guidelines:

• Feature Requests Only:
  Use this page exclusively for new feature ideas. Report bugs or technical issues directly through GitHub, our Discord or our Support.
• Detailed Descriptions:
  Clearly describe what your suggested feature does, its benefits, and why it matters to you.

Privacy Information – Feature Request Page

Our Feature Request Page is fully self-hosted on our secure servers located in Germany and adheres strictly to our existing Privacy Policy. When you participate by submitting, voting on, or discussing feature requests, any collected data (such as your email or other login data,) is handled securely and is never shared or sold to third parties. All data processing complies with strict German and EU data protection regulations (GDPR).
